De Roggeberg holiday complex lies directly on the border of the magnificent Het Drents-Friese Wold nature reserve. Here you can go for an endless walk or cycling trip through the unspoiled scenery of this wonderful landscape. Along the way, you can easily meet traditional flocks of sheep that help maintain the heathland in its most natural state. A special experience is a trip through the Aekinger Zand, one of Europes largest drift sands. The complex itself has a water park for children up to the age of 10 (The water park is open when outside temperatures rise above 20 degrees). All guests of De Roggeberg have free access to Appelschas splendid outdoor pool situated next to the holiday complex. Among other things, this forest pool has a unique aquatic playground. Guests can also enjoy free access (during fixed hours) to the de Boekhorst indoor swimming pool in neighboring Oosterwolde. In the center of the complex you will also find facilities such as a restaurant, a snack bar, a supermarket and a large recreation area.
